LIAM AND OLIVIA ARE CANSKATERS OF THE MONTH

CANSkaters of the Month!
Olivia Geis is 9 years old. She has been participating in CANSkate two days a week since Fall School and has also moved up into the STAR Development program. She is a very hard worker and is always asking the PA’s to make the circuits harder. J Congratulations Olivia and keep up the good work!
Liam Crosby is 5 years old. His favorite part of CANSkate is the “Follow the Leader” warm up song with MacKenzie and Cheryl. When he is not skating he loved to play in his sandbox with his trucks. Congratulations Liam and keep up the good work!

Emma Hemeon is Spirit Skater of the Month
Emma began in CANSkate at the beginning of this season. She quickly progressed through the levels. She was then invited to STAR Development and has now moved on to STAR 1/2 Sessions! And as amazing as her progress has been she also wanted to give back to the CANSkate program and has started volunteering as a Program Assistant this Spring! Thank you Emma and Congratulations!!
MacKenzie Cook is the Program Assistant of the Month
MacKenzie is small but mighty! She has been a great help to the Coaches during CANSkate this season! She always leads the warm ups for the CANSkaters and is amazing at it!! She is a great PA to the smaller CANSkaters and makes it lots of fun for them :)! Congratulations and Thank you MacKenzie!!

Yarmouth Skating Club's STARSkaters are proud to present Spring Showcase 2016
on Thursday May 19th at 6:30pm. Admission is free will offering at the door.
Our STARSkaters have worked very hard this year and have had many successes which they would love to show to their family and friends

Yarmouth Skating Club has nominated 3 Skaters, a Volunteer and an Official for various Skate Nova Scotia Awards
Brooklyn Spates has been named Yarmouth Skating Club's Canskater of the Year and is our nominee for the Skate NS Canskater of the Year
Allison Theriault has been named Yarmouth Skating Club's Program Assistant of the Year and is our nominee for the Skate NS PA of the Year
Kylie Landry has been named Yarmouth Skating Club's STARSkater of the Year and is our nominee for the Skate NS STARSkater of the Year
Cheryl Hamilton-Cook has been named Yarmouth Skating Club's Volunteer of the Year and is our nominee for the Skate NS Volunteer of the Year
Cheryl Smith has been nominated by YSC for Official of the Year. Cheryl came to Yarmouth on October 17th to judge our Test Day. This was the first official test day Yarmouth had held in three years.
Brooklyn, Allison and Kylie will perform at the Skate NS Gala at Cole Harbour Place on May 7th
Also Shayleigh, Sharlie and Kylie have been invited to perform in the Skate NS Gala as they were a member of Skate NS's Team Atlantic
Shayleigh and Kylie have been invited as they have both made the Skate Nova Scotia Wall of Fame.
Cheryl Hamilton-Cook and Cheryl Smith will receive recognition for their nominations during the Skate NS AGM held in the afternoon on May 7th at Cole Harbour Place

TWO YARMOUTH SKATERS HAVE MADE THE SKATE NOVA SCOTIA WALL OF FAME

Shayleigh Doucet has made the Skate Nova Scotia +2 GOE Wall of Fame three times in the 2015-2016 Competition Season.
She received a +2 GOE for her Combination Spin at Sectionals in Dieppe in November 2015
She received a +2 GOE for her Flying Sit Spin at Rob McCall in Dartmouth in February 2016
She received a +2 GOE for her Combination Spin at Provincials in Amherst in February 2016
Kylie Landry made the Skate Nova Scotia Wall of Fame for receiving a +2 GOE for her Axel at Atlantics in East Hants in April 2016
Congratulations Ladies!
This is an excellent achievement. They have both been invited to the Skate Nova Scotia Gala on May 7th at Cole Harbour Place where they will perform their +2 GOE elements in the Wall of Fame group number with other skaters who have also received +2 GOE's from across the province.
